Info: reached #1 in R&B and Pop charts in 1957 on december 2. First date on the charts was October 28. It stayed on the charts for 15 weeks.
* He did the song on the Ed Sullivan show on november 3, 1957, but only a few seconds because the show ended. He did it again on december 1, 1958. This was released on video.
* During the May 1957 session Specialty Owner Art Rupe stormed in a session and objected to Blackwells use of a white chorus. This led to Rupe handing over the tapes of the session and Sam's contract in exchange for any past or future royalties to Blackwell.
