The Veronicas Hook Me Up Album (Track By Track) Lyrics

Track number one is a song called Untouched and it's one of our favorite songs on the record we did something a little bit different production wise and used some strings and stuff sample sounds which we thought was pretty cool yeah it you know it was a real challenge um writing this one because the verses are so intricate with they're syllables and it's quite fast and we had to when we recorded it as well we had to do it in one take so we did like seven takes of each verse just to try and get the breathing right and it was really funny thats right it was so much fun and um you know with most of our songs we write from personal experience so this was um this was um one of those yeah

Track number two is called Hook Me Up now this is the first single off our new record and funnily enough it was also the very first song we wrote off the album yeah so I mean we worked on it with a guy named Greg Wells um and yeah it actually came really natural we weren't thinking about writing a single or anything it just kind of happend and we think it's a really good indication of you know the vibe for this new sound and new record and it's really one you can dance to

Track number three is called This Is How It Feels and I think it's a pretty cool song you know it's very emotional in the delivery and uh you know we definitely relive that whole kind of story every time we sing it basically it's about being with someone and them uh kind of s_______ you over and you you know telling them well this is what it feels like and and kind of giving it back and getting a bit of revenge so yeah uh I think you know we we can all relate to that at some point you know so thats definately one of our favorite songs and it's kind of it's got a little bit of an 80's feel to it this one yeah so uh yeah we love it

Track number four is called This Love um now this songs really cute it's just kind of a nice you know melodic song fun popy kind of song yeah we we kind of it was important for us to have this on the record it reminded us a little bit of you know the secret life of in some ways so um we kind of really liked that and also you know it talks about you know having hope in in love and life and relationships and you know not kind of giving up on that so it's it's a it's a really cute song it was very relatable to us cause it talks about going away and saying that they'll still love the other person and we go away a lot so we just really related to that so that's all

Track number five is called I Can't Stay Away and this is another one I absolutely love it yeah this song was about uh being with someone that you shouldn't be being with that person that everyone says that you shouldn't and your freinds don't approve but you know you can't help yourself and even though it might be wrong(your just drawn to them) yeah your drawn to them um this songs got a really big note at the end and I remember when we were recording it it was really funny because you know we had it was just lisa me and the producer josh in the room at the time and it was at like one a.m. in the morning we were all like jacked up on like chordial or something I don't know what it was we were all really hyperactive and I just kept singing and I sang that note about uh at least twenty times in a row and every time (it was perfect every time) me and Josh got so excited because I mean it was like freakin' Mariah Carey I don't know it was just like the most insane night and we would get so excited (once again it was one a.m.) she was partly delusional no I might have been delusional but it was awesome love it so I hope you guys love that song

Track number six is called Take Me On The Floor and uh this one was definitely very inspired by a lot of the music we've been listening to um especially in L.A. in the underground scene so we had a lot of fun writing this song it's it's one of the more dancey tracks on the album and uh yeah you can definitely dance along and rock out to it

Track number seven is called I Don't Wanna Wait this is probably my favorite my favorite track on the record what about you yeah mine too uh we got to work on it with a guy uh who's like our favorite person ever his name is John Feldman and uh and it was really cool because even though it's kind of a rythmic kind of a track we wrote it on acoustic guitar with him and just in his back yard and uh and we had one of the guys from The Lost Prophets sitting there watching us it was really kind of a funny experience anyway we went and we recorded it and it was it was just the most fun song to record and that one just talks about uh you know wanting to have a relationship with someone who is kind of trying to like putting it on hold yeah putting it on hold and she's just like look I don't wanna wait I don't wanna wait anymore or like make your mind up make your mind up(fool) or I'm outta here ha ha

Track number eight is called Popular which is uh, basically just a song that we wrote with an awesome guy named Toby Gadd who we wrote a lot of the stuff with, um, most of the album actually and it's just taking the p___ out of being like a celebrity, basically. Yeah there's a fine track, there's a line in the chorus, it says, umm "my name is my credit card" which we just think is the funniest thing ever, because celebrities always get free stuff, just for you know who they are and we think it's hilarious so we just taking the p___ outta that.

Track number 9 is called Revenge Is Sweeter (Than You Ever Were) now this is uh, uh, um, one I hold dearly to my heart, haha yeah, and in most of the songs on the album are personal experiences and this is as personal as you can get! its sorta like a word for word recap on what happened in lisa's life
