Iona Heaven's Bright Sun Lyrics

In the book of Revelation, John says that in heaven there will be no need for the sun or moon as God himself will be the light. This piece attempts to describe this. "I felt I began to see what Moses was aiming at when he had a tent pitched for God; here in their midst was an abiding Presence. When they travelled, this was a sign that the Almighty travelled with them. When darkness descended, here was the pillar of fire to guide them. We need to keep a vision of this other world. Not as a place far away or set in another time, but a world that keeps breaking into our lives. Not a world that runs parallel to ours, but a world that is closely interwoven with ours, in fact a world in which our world shares and into which we can enter.
